DATE NIGHT, SPRING EDITION
Whether she's been married for forty years, she's married ten years with two kids, she's divorced and back on the scene or she's dating for the first time in her twenties, all of my clients want to know...
WHAT TO WEAR ON DATE NIGHT
I don't care who you're going out with or where you're going. The best thing to wear on date night is something that YOU feel great in. A typical series of questions that I ask my clients is: "What do you wear to work? What do you wear casually on the weekends? And what do you wear on date night?" After seeing response to these questions I ask: Do you feel good in that?
Not because I'm judging her. But because I can honestly gauge the health of a relationship or the health of her dating life in the way that a woman describes her date night outfits. Why? Because how you show up magnetizes what shows up for you (cha ching!)
This is not about what your partner wants to see you wear.
This is about what you want to see you wear.
What makes YOU feel sexy?
If the answer to what makes you feel sexy? is "nothing," cut that shit out. Focus. What's your favorite part of yourself? I always giggle when my sister tries something on that shows off her collarbones and neckline. She loves those aspects about herself and I LOVE hearing her say, "my collarbones (or clavicles, or neckline, or whatever) look so good in this top!" or dress. It makes my heart soar to see her delight in herself and to see her feel beautiful. A mom of 2-4 kids may not feel great about her mid-section but tries on a pair of dressy shorts, checks out her legs and remarks, "well, I do LOVE my legs!" This is the goal. Choose that part of you that you feel so strongly about and show it off... for you. Because it makes you feel great.
I'm going to use myself as an example for the "date night outfit" scenarios because if I try to cover all the types of bodies, I will without a doubt still leave someone out. (So, hire me, I can help.) Things I love about my body -- and hope you can relate to! -- my butt. my legs. my shoulders. Although I wouldn't describe my style as "flirty" I definitely love a little sexiness, a low cut back, pants that accentuate my waist and tops that show off my shoulders. Here are a three ideas for Spring Time Date Night...

If you are knocking yourself out trying to be sexy or on trend or look one way or another, relax.
Focus on parts of your body that you absolutely love! Then work around accentuating your waist, hips, shoulders, etc.
You Must Value You. First.
