Pedi-Pact

I've made a pact with my feet:
NO MORE KILLER SHOES

(not that my shoes have ever been quite this dangerous!)
from the berry.com

"Down with Killer Shoes" has been a theme of mine for quite some time due to the messed-up-ed-ness of my two poor little knees.  But the "pact" has grown much stronger now that I have actually found fabulous and chic shoes that provide my feet and sweet little joints the respect that they deserve.

Notice I didn't say that I've given up my love of heels and height!  Adding a little height with a platform or low wedge is an instant touch of glam. I'm going to show you how to do this, comfortably.  Whether you're a young professional on your feet all day, a stay at home mom dashing-in-and-out of teacher conferences or you gave up heels of any height years ago when your grandchildren were born -- the following options should give you an idea of "the good stuff" that's now on the market!
Disclaimer: In my experience, feet are a part of the body that one should INVEST IN.  If you're a young professional like me, you're probably having to look at both sides of the coin.  I'd love to afford the upkeep of having my hair dyed Michelle Williams platinum blonde....

but I also want to avoid blisters, joint pain and deterioration of the little cartilage I have left in my knees.  -----  Expensive (comfort) shoes win. For now.
Here are a few of my recommendations based on the comfort reviews and my personally having tried them on (to bring you the most unbiased opinion, of course.)

1)  Jeffrey Campbell's 'Chance' Pump at NORDSTROM for $139.95
If the squareness of the toe freaks you out, fine. But this style is going to give you more room for your little toes so they're not all scrunched up!
Now, let's look at the versatility of the shoe: a pattern-pop at the bottom of an all black outfit, a sassy touch to a flirty ivory dress, the sweet finishing touch to a pair of dressy shorts.
Lastly, the platform aspect is appealing because it gives you the major height without too much of a vertical angle.
 2) Stuart Weitzman 'Peaceful' Slide Sandal @ NORDSTROM for $385
Great, versatile neutral for the summer.  Slip on with your sarong or beach cover up and dash around town after a morning of sunning or pair with your favorite spring office dress (my fav is this one by DVF
Again, the front platform aspect is appealing because it gives you the major height without too much of a vertical angle.
The word "peace" is in the shoe so, you know it's gonna feel good.

3)  Donald J Pliner 'Dasan' Sandal @ NORDSTROM for $198
I know, I hardly feel like I need to write about these because they speak for themselves.
So versatile with the textured mahogany finish and the comfortable black stretch top!  My mom and I saw these at the same time and looked at each other simultaneously "O.M.G."
The bottom is made of cork -- for extra comfort.   Heel height 1.5 inches.
4) ECCO 'Moki' Sandal @ NORDSTROM for $199.95
I know what you're thinking... that couldn't possibly be comfortable
Wrong.  It's only a 2 inch heel, my friend.  The once inch platform makes all the difference!  In addition to the plush padded sole of the shoe, the bottom is made of grooved rubber, fab for standing up all night.
. 4)  Lastly (for right now) my personal favorite
       KORK-EASE "Samantha" from Korkease.com for $165

Friends, this is one of the best investments that I've ever made.  And you know how serious I am about "my investments."
This shoe is spectacular for so many reasons. I actually bought it when it was still really cold out, the peep toe is so small that they can practically be worn as clogs.  They're wonderful with dressy shorts, wide leg jeans, boyfriend jeans rolled up or your favorite casual lbd.
The front part of the wedge is at least an inch and a half, which majorly reduces the harsh slant of the foot.
The padding in the shoe is... it's ridiculous.  It. is. wonderful!  Even if you just order them to try them on and send them back (don't kid yourself though, you won't be able to) these are totally worth looking into.

Some of my clients have very, very specific needs in terms of footwear.  If you need help finding the right footwear for the season, if you need more ideas that are more budget-friendly, if you're looking for a specific style or shape for an occasion or everyday wear, let me know!  I'll be more than happy to help you find the perfect fit!
